Day 9 of 30 random things!
List 10 people who have influenced you and describe how.
1. John Williams: John and his (AWESOME) wife, Marie, were my Louisiana "parents". I stayed with them for a few months when I moved, and had lunches with them every Sunday (with my sister and brother-in-law). They are AMAZING people who have taught me a lot about life, faith, and family. I miss John most every day, but I always feel the impact he had on my life.
2. My college roommates: These girls are so kind and smart and beautiful and confident, and spending 4 years living with them was possibly the best thing that could have happened to me. When something bad happens to me, I'll think about how they would react to it, and it gives me perspective. They're awesome and I miss them every day.
3. My husband: He's so chill. Nothing phases him. When I'm freaking out about basically nothing, he takes it all in and is rational. Sometimes it irritates me when I'm upset and he doesn't say anything, but I learned that he's not saying anything because he's figuring out a solution. I'm trying really hard to have his patience.
4. My former assistant manager: By her example, she taught me how to keep good relationships with my coworkers and remain professional. She has a lot of integrity in her work, and she's getting recognition because of it. She rocks. :-)
5. My best friend, Jackie: She's so brave about everything. She started a totally new career path and is rocking. She has her own style and rocks it without considering anyone's opinion. She's awesome. And I've seen her grow up. Literally, from age 6 and up. We've been through a lot and helped each other out, and I wouldn't be who I am without her.
6. Pastors: Every pastor I've had in my life, youth and senior, has shaped my faith today. I like to think I've learned something from every spiritual leader in my life, and what's best is that they've all taught me to think for myself. I am an adult who can be in active bible study alone and with others and can question my faith daily and keep a strong relationship with God, because of all of my pastors and spiritual leaders.
7. My kidney recipient: She rocks. She's so optimistic and happy and she's been through so much. I'm glad we'll always be connected.
8. Lorelai Gilmore: No. Seriously. She is a role model. She's hilarious. I wish I could be as witty as her.
9. The little old lady who walks in front of me and my sister in the 3 Day: She's old, and doesn't even look a little bit tired, even when Leanne and I are seriously dragging. We don't know her name or anything, but she has pins on her backpack with people's names (we're assuming victims of breast cancer) and she motivates us to walk stronger. She's in better shape than both Leanne and I and if there is not a cure for cancer when I'm her age, I hope to look as awesome as her when I walk 60 miles.
10. My in-laws: Janet and Bob's relationship is awesome and I hope to have a marriage like theirs. Thankfully, Philip's got the same genes, so I think we can do it. They have fun with each other and they're nice to each other, and they support each other.
