Day 8 of 30!

Day 8 of 30 random things!

What are 5 passions you have?

1.  I am VERY passionate about finding a cure for cancer.  All cancer.  What I do to work towards this passion is walking in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day.  I raise $2,300 every year for this cause and I walk 60 miles over 3 days.  It's an amazing experience and I'm excited to share it with my husband this year.  I have lost too many people to cancer.  Too many people have fought cancer.  I'm tired of it.

2.  I am passionate about organ donation.  My Uncle Marco wouldn't be alive today if someone hadn't made the decision to be an organ donor.  As far as being a living donor, that's a VERY difficult decision to make and very personal.  I would NEVER push someone towards that.  I donate blood when I can and I'm on the bone marrow donation list, and I've donated a kidney.  I do it because if it was someone I loved, I would want someone to do the same.  And I think if we all do it, less people will be in need.

3.  This one will get me in trouble, but I believe in a woman's right to choose.  It is her body, and her choice.  This does NOT make me pro-abortion.  I HATE when people say that.  We're not pro-abortion, we're pro-choice.  I think women should give a lot of thought and prayer to that decision.  But to take the decision away seems wrong.

4.  I'm passionate about love.  For everyone.  Conservative people, liberal people, gay people, straight people, pro-choice, pro-life, old, young, EVERYONE.  Obviously, this isn't easy, but I try a little bit every day.  It's easy to love people who are discriminated against.  It's MUCH harder to love people who have a completely different view from you.

5.  I'm passionate about music.  I love singing.  But mostly, I think the perfect song at the perfect time can make everything better.  There are some songs that instantly take me back to that place I was when I first heard it.  I'm glad that I'm older now and listening to the "right" music isn't important anymore.  I just listen to what I want to.
