Day 23 of 30!

Day 23 of 30 random things!

List your top 5 hobbies and why you love them.

I'm not really a hobby kind of girl, but I'll try.

1.  Crochet.  It's so relaxing to crochet.  I'm not good at sitting and doing nothing, so it's nice when we're watching a movie to give my hands something to do.  Plus, I like knowing that I made something all by myself.

2.  Walking.  Not only do I walk for the 3Day (Please donate!), but I also enjoy it.  When my sister and I lived in Louisiana together we walked together and I loved it.  When I lived there alone, it was a nice way to be alone with my thoughts and some good music.  When I moved here, Philip and I started walking together.  It's so nice and relaxing.  I love it.

3.  Watching movies.  My husband and I both love classic movies and spend a lot of nights watching old Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire or Audrey Hepburn movies.  I'm so glad I found someone who can appreciate movies the way I do.

4.  Reading.  I haven't been as good about reading as I used to be.  I was always a voracious reader as a kid.  In college, I had to read for class, so I stopped reading for pleasure.  Now, with my second go around at school, I'm finding I can combine pleasure and class.  I like reading my medical books and learning everything.

5.  Keeping in touch with family and friends.  This is a new hobby that I started after moving to Louisiana.  To break it down, every single person I invited to my wedding had to travel to get here.  None of my old friends and (besides in-laws) family lives anywhere near me.  I like writing mass facebook messages to my college roommates, being on the phone with my best friend for hours, sending emails, talking to my mom and dad...  It's a necessity to keep my friendships, but I also really enjoy it.
