Day 1 of 30
Day 1 of 30 random things!
20 Random Things:
1. I have a lot of trouble telling the difference between my right and my left. It’s embarrassing because my husband teaches first grade. But, like the episode of How I Met Your Mother tells us, some of us have gaps in our knowledge. At least I know the North Pole is real.
2. When I was little, I thought that communion bread and juice was magic and that’s why we never ran out. You know, like the fishes and loaves.
3. I thought I was adopted for a while. The first thing my granddad said when I was born was “Who the hell does she look like?”. Plus someone wrote my social security number down wrong and I had 2 for a little while. Plus, the hospital I was born in doesn’t exist anymore. Plus my sister told me I was adopted.
4. I am very aware when I’m being irrational and overly emotional. I recognize it while it’s happening, but there’s usually nothing I can do about it. But, I recognize it, so that counts, right?
5. I was really scared to learn about the skeletal system because I have a phobia about bones, but I found that actually learning about the specifics made it less scary. That’s not to say that if I see a broken bone I won’t throw up. I probably will.
6. I love my truck. I loved my first car, but I really love driving my truck.
7. I don’t believe in ghosts. I just don’t think God would work things like that. God wouldn’t have souls just hanging out.
8. Philip has full on conversations with Charlie the cat. When I’m around, Charlie has a lot to say. Strangely, he’s really quiet when I’m not around.
9. I’m really, really happy. Being married and living in Oklahoma City was never in my future plans. But I love my life.
10. I love my nephew so stinking much. And it makes me really happy when people say he kind of looks like me. You’re welcome, kid.
11. Whenever I see someone else’s wedding pictures, I immediately have to look at mine. Just to compare. Because I’m awful like that.
12. I’m glad I married a man who loves movies as much as I do. I love that he introduces me to classic movies that I’d never seen before.
13. I miss my old job. A LOT.
14. I brag about my grades. And I feel the need to mention to people that I already have a BS in Psychology. I think I’m very concerned that people will think I’m stupid. But then I realize I just sound like a jerk. Sorry, guys.
15. My husband has agreed to leave the sex of our first baby a surprise until he or she is born (in a few years, no worries). He agreed to this because I had a wedding for him when I didn’t really want to have one. The Boones are all about compromise.
16. I laugh when people fall down. I can’t help it. I’ve tried to, but I just can’t. It’s not because I’m heartless. I also laughed when my sister passed out while giving blood. I think I just have bad emotional reactions to situations.
17. I haven’t donated blood since my kidney surgery. I feel really bad about it. I always look up blood banks with every intention of making an appointment, but I always get distracted by other things. I’m working on it.
18. Philip sings songs but changes the lyrics to his full name. This is mostly a fact about him, but I’m running low on stuff about me, and I get to listen to all of his songs.
19. I read my school books before the semester starts. I’m pretty sure that means I’m interested in my classes, which is good.
20. I miss my friends a lot. I still love my life in Oklahoma, but I REALLY miss my friends.
