Happy Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving, I've been thinking about where I was this time last year and how much has changed.  I had a job that I loved.  I was living in Slidell and so were my sister and brother-in-law.  I loved my church and the young adults, and I was glad that Baby Emma had just started liking Jarrod (Remember?  It was at the Young Adult Thanksgiving that she stopped crying when she looked at him...).  My life was not exciting.  I worked, came home, watched tv and went to bed.  Some nights I had church stuff to do, but for the most part, it was pretty mundane.  And that's how I liked it.

A month later I had learned about a young lady who needed a kidney and made the decision to do what I could to help her.

2 months later I met the man I'll be marrying in March of next year.

And everything changed.

Since January, I impulsively flew 700 miles to meet a guy I had never met, got engaged, found out my sister was pregnant, had major surgery (for a really sweet girl), moved, walked 60 miles, and got a new job.  Have I left anything out?

Oh, and I bought a wedding dress.

I really hope 2012 is less crazy than 2011, but I kind of doubt it since I'll have a baby niece or nephew, and a wedding.

This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for my wonderful fiance.  Who makes me a peanut butter sandwich in the morning before he leaves for work, and occasionally watches stuff with me that I know he hates, and has so quickly jumped on board with how I handle money, and who flew all the way to New Jersey from Oklahoma for Thanksgiving with my family.  And who wrote me a song to propose...wow. :-)
I'm thankful for Bobbette and that both of us came out of the surgery in one piece (and I CONSTANTLY pray for her to continue getting better!).
I'm thankful for my very pregnant sister and Baby Square Square.  I can't wait to be an aunt.
I'm thankful that my dad got to share the 3day with us this year and that it looks like the days of me and Leanne being the only 2 walking together are probably over, because we've recruited so many more!
I'm thankful for my two cats who always make us laugh.
I'm thankful that I get to spend Thanksgiving up North with my family and see my AWESOME friends, both from high school and from college (and I get to see them all again in March for the wedding!)
I'm thankful for my future in-laws, who honestly couldn't get any better.
I'm thankful for having a job.
I'm thankful for $95 wedding dresses :-)
I'm thankful for my Slidell church and friends, and my new OKC church and friends.

I complain a lot about how stressful this past year has been, but when I lay it all out like this, I'm really glad things happened the way they did.

  1. I was thinking about Emma liking Jarrod last year also! I'm really glad because otherwise I'd worry that our baby wouldn't like Jarrod...
